New design for Friend and Johnson newsletter. Clean, simple… this one features illustrator Karolin Schnoor.
I’m noticing all you viewers based in Brazil. Curious. Tell me what you are working on!
I’ve had time this week to play. Inspired by illustrator Brian Cairns. His work made me wonder what I would do if I could design packaging for cat food. LOL! Who does that? I guess I was born to be a designer : )
Its so easy to go crazy making these at Wacky Buttons. Plus such wonderful artwork from Geof Kern, Patrick Hruby, Rinee Shah and Tim Tomkinson.
There’s some cool work in this issue of Archive.
It was a thought. Can’t make it work this time around. But just wait until you see what is going to print. Super fun new cover idea with artist Rinee Shah. She is amazing. Posting soon : )
Focusing on my personal work of late. Looking back through sketchbooks and project notes. I pursued this cat project for a number of years. Inspired originally by a friend holding up her Siamese cat, explaining that this is how you show a cat, if you were to have a cat in a Cat Show. I was really impressed by the cat’s silhouette. All those circular shapes, so graphic. I did some drawings which lead to a 3D concept, rocking cats. I had a builder create the rockers and cat shapes in wood. And then I painted the cats in oils.
